Private Ronald Arinda of the UPDF, attached to the SFC(Special  Forces command) was released on Saturday from Rwanda after the visit of Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to Rwanda. The commander land forces was in Rwanda to have a meeting with president Paul Kagame.

Arinda was arrested in Rwanda in November, 2021. The private was arrested from the Uganda-Rwanda boarder as he crossed to Rwanda to buy cattle at the neighboring market cheaply.

Rwanda closed its boarders with Uganda first and later stopped its nationals from coming to Uganda claiming Uganda was hostile, on 28th February , 2019.

The visit to Rwanda by Lt. Gen. Kainerugaba was seen by many as a chance for Rwanda and Uganda to restore their relationship.

On Saturday, the commander land forces confirmed that he returned with the UPDF officer, a thing for which he greatly appreciated the president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame.
