On the other hand, government has given a second directive in less than a week urging Arts teachers to return to class rooms as government has already explained the mode of salary enhancement.
Arts teachers went on strike on 15th June,2022 following a salary increase that only included science teachers causing a huge discrepancy in teacher salaries.
Local government minister Raphael Magyezi revealed that government has reached a final decision to have arts teachers striking be sacked by today (Tuesday) if they do not return to classroom.
“As government , we have agreed that all those that will not have returned to class by today (Tuesday), will have absconded from duty henceforth , sacked and jobs advertised.” Raphael Magyezi.
