According to the proposal, those who do not get vaccinated will face a fine of shs4 Million or jail term a six months.
The object of the Bill;
To amend the Public Health Act to repeal the obsolete provisions.
To revise fines for offenses committed under Act; to repeal the provisions on vulnerable diseases.
Building and construction and Public sewers and to repeal the vulnerable diseases Act. Cap. 284 and the immunization Act, 2007.
“The bill has a section on vaccination and immunization as a public health measure to protect the vulnerable. When we introduce new vaccines. We need to get mass immunity. It is important that whoever is supposed to be vaccinated, is vaccinated” Aceng said.
